For the past one month I really need a vacation. Was thinking of going to Pulau Perhentian, or Langkawi, or Tioman but a quick, short distance getaway will do I guess. After a short discussion on where to go, we decided to go to Kuala Linggi. About 120km from Kuala Lumpur, we started our journey from different location. Me from Puchong. Anna from Setapak, and her hubby drove all the way from Sg. Petani! Whilst Fakhrun decided to take laluan sepanjang laut katanya and took Langat-Morib-Lukut-Port Dickson-Kuala Linggi en route.
For the first time in my life, I go fishing. Err.... it’s more to ikut org memancing. And I simply fell in love with fishing! Hmmm....for me fishing not only needs a skills but a patience (especially bila org sebelah dan sebelah dan sebelah asik dapat ikan). Dan melihat keindahan alam ciptaan Tuhan. I took the opportunity to see a breathtaking view at Sungai Linggi. A little I know about local history, jambatan di Sg Linggi tu adalah sempadan di antara negeri Melaka dan Negeri Sembilan. Kiranya ala2 sekejap kat melaka, sekejap dah sampai N9. Hehehe
Dinner malam tu kami pergi ke Restoren Terapung, about 5mins away from our KM Chalet. Ini dinner sambil melihat sunset. Later that night, we went to Bandar Hilir. Sejam lah jugak (sebab sesat2). Halatuju pertama Jonker Walk where you could see all types of items from crafts to antiques to pets to local foods. Macam pasar malam pun ya jugak benornya. Then kami pergi ke Stadthyus, from there kami naik beca mengelilingi kota Melaka di malam hari! (cost us RM20). We stopped (to take photos) at Samudera Museum, A Farmosa, passes by Menara Taming Sari and Dataran Pahlawan, tengok pokok Melaka (where they believe daun pokok Melaka tu bagus utk ubat diabetis, darah tinggi). The Abang Beca sangat helpful. Explaining about Malacca history over and over again. Siap ada sesi macam cikgu sekolah:
Abg Beca: Apa tujuan Tunku pegi ke London?
Me : Rundingan kemerdekaan.
Abg Beca : Tunku naik apa?
Me : huhh?? Abg ni mcm cikgu kat sekolah lah.
Abg Beca : Naik apa? (he repeated his question)
Me : Aeroplane.
Abg Beca : Ok, sekarang kita dah sampai kat replika kapalterbang yang bawa Tunku ke London.
Well trained by Jabatan Pelancongan Melaka kot abang beca nih?
Habis dah seharian kami di bumi Melaka.
The next day, it was rain. *sigh* Heavily rain since around 5am. Bila hujan teduh around 830am maka teruslah kanak-kanak riang ria mau mandi laut (read: main pasir). But truth to be told, the parents were more excited than the kids! Budak-budak main pasir kat tepi pantai, manakala mak budak dan bukan mak budak berenang-renang di lautan (persisiran jek lah, mana berani lebih-lebih sebab tak tahu berenang) sheessh.. but hey, at least I know how to float myself! Itu step pertama untuk belajar berenang kan? Though I guess I could only float myself for not more than 10secs. Hehehe
After check-out at about 1130am, we went straight to AD Goat Farm (ladang kambing milik Azizon & Dalina) huhu and that was my first time ever to hold a goat, for photo taking purposes. Dinch kan? Saya mempelajari perihal kambing secara mendalam (dan terus bercita-cita untuk turut memiliki ladang kambing dan perlu membeli seekar tanah untuk tujuan tersebut). Yeah I know, orang ada ladang kambing kita pun nak, orang ternak cacing kita pun nak ternak cacing. Orang nak kaya raya, tapi kita nak hidup sederhana tetapi mewah?? HAHAHAA you wish anne, you wish! Oh, we ate mihun goreng yang simple tapi sedap (read : lapar).
Selepas mengucapkan selamat tinggal kepada Kuala Linggi, kami meneruskan perjalanan ke Port Dickson. Sasaran utama ke PD Ostrich Farm. Ya adik-adik sekalian, bayaran masuk adalah RM8 utk dewasa, RM 4 for kanak-kanak berumur 3-12 thn. (bole dapat diskaun $1 kalau ada Jusco Card. Ya, Jusco Card!). Feeds the Ostrich, feeds the rabbit! Tapi dalam ladang ada bermacam-macam binatang. Bukan sekadar burung unta, tapi angsa, arnab, ayam kampung, monyet dan segala lah. So called a mini zoo. We take a break and tested ostrich satay. Rasa macam sate ayam. Can’t really taste it for the rempah yang telah menghilangkan the original taste of ostrich itu.
Destinasi berikutnya adalah Muzium Tentera Darat. Admission is free. Dan camera boleh di bawa masuk. Ini adalah sesi pembelajaran sejarah Malaysia. I would say that this museum were informative enough for us to learn our own history. About World War II. Dan mengetahui pejuang-pejuang tanahair yang terkorban untuk mempertahankan Negara. I read bout Lt. Adnan Saidi (he was more handsome than Hairi Osman who played his role in that Leftenan Adnan movie). The museum is dsivided by a different eras started with era Kesultanan Melayu Melaka, era British, era Belanda, era Jepun, communists etc and of course how the Angkatan Tentera Darat was formed. I don't really a museum person, but I have to admit that this museum is one of the museum I enjoyed most. The sound system were good too. Very informative. Owh, I saw a warrior named Rentap of Sarawak’s (the replica lah kan). Adalah bagus utk anda membawa anak-anak ke sini untuk lebih mencintai tanahair kita ini.
Petang tu kami kembali ke Kuala Lumpur untuk meneruskan kembali kehidupan sebagai anak rantau. At precisely 6pm when we hit PLUS highway, we saw a cars parade along the highway...arghhh!! Congested. We took old road instead, terus lah exit from Seremban to Nilai-Salak Tinggi-Sepang-Putrajaya. Sempat jugak stopped by untuk makan durian di tepi jalan.
All in all, it was a great weekend gateaway. Extremely tired though but yeah...we did enjoy ourselves.
